Yazan Al-Khdeir, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, has officially launched the Integrated Tourism Diploma at Middle East University (MEU). The programme is being delivered by the university’s Innovation and Professional Development Centre in partnership with the Theory Y platform.
The launch ceremony was attended by a distinguished group of academic leaders and representatives from strategic partners within the tourism sector.
Addressing the audience, Mr Al-Khdeir emphasised that human resource development remains the fundamental pillar for the sector’s advancement. He stressed that the coming phase demands specialised training programmes rooted in practical application, designed to equip a workforce capable of meeting evolving market requirements.
Prof. Anis Al-Mansour, Director of the Innovation and Professional Development Centre at MEU, explained that the diploma represents an advanced model of integration between academic education and practical training. He noted that the initiative reflects the university’s commitment to empowering young people with the high-level skills necessary for effective entry into the labour market.
Najah Al-Atout, Chief Operating Officer of Theory Y, outlined the platform’s vision for developing professional diplomas focused on practical skill-building. She highlighted the importance of keeping pace with rapid shifts in the tourism industry, ensuring students are prepared to compete locally and regionally within demanding work environments.
The launch of the Integrated Tourism Diploma aligns with a shared vision to support sustainable tourism development. It further seeks to cement Jordan’s status as a regional hub for specialised tourism education and training through high-quality programmes that meet modern international standards and serve national development priorities.
