The Community Service and Extracurricular Activities Committee at the Faculty of Pharmacy, in cooperation with the “Sawai’d Al-Saydala” (Pharmacy Arms) team, organised an awareness event to mark the World Antimicrobial Awareness Week. The event targeted the university students and staff, aiming to promote awareness about the rational and safe use of antibiotics.
The event featured a series of diverse educational activities, through which students and team members presented simplified scientific information regarding the dangers of the indiscriminate use of antibiotics and their role in increasing bacterial resistance, which is one of the most prominent health challenges facing the world today.
Additionally, informational flyers and interactive awareness messages were distributed, aimed at correcting common misconceptions individuals have about antibiotic usage methods and encouraging sound health practices.
Furthermore, the “Sawai’d Al-Saydala” team played an active role in organising the event. Its members coordinated the activities and interacted with students in an impactful communicative manner, which contributed to reinforcing the awareness message and achieving its objectives.
The Faculty of Pharmacy affirmed that this event is part of its commitment to supporting health and community initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable health awareness. It noted that disseminating a culture of responsible antibiotic use contributes to supporting national and global efforts to limit the phenomenon of antimicrobial resistance.
