The Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Engineering and Design has launched the “Architecture Club”, offering a unique opportunity to enhance university life, facilitate knowledge exchange, organise initiatives, competitions, and activities, and streamline communication between students, alumni, and industry professionals. This initiative aims to consolidate the department’s academic identity and deepen students’ connection to their architectural community.
The launch took place during an induction session organised for the newly enrolled students, attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Ayman Awwad, the Head of Department, Dr. Mohammad Hamdan, members of the academic and administrative staff, and a large group of students.
The Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Ayman Awwad, briefed the students on the faculty’s vision, achievements, and partnership pathways, stressing the paramount importance of students engaging in architectural activities and initiatives as an integral part of the overall university experience.
The session included a presentation showcasing student works, projects, and examples of their architectural activities. Furthermore, alumni and students who had won local and international competitions shared their experiences and success stories with the attendees.
The gathering concluded with awarding the top-achieving students from various cohorts and those who excelled in engineering and architectural competitions at both the local and international levels.
