The Faculty of Law at Middle East University organised a field visit for students enrolled in the “Crimes Against Persons” course to the Major Criminal Court. This initiative forms part of the faculty’s efforts to enhance applied education and enable students to comprehend the practical dimensions of penal law in a real-world setting.
The visit, which was supervised by the course instructor, Dr. Raghad Al-Khawaldeh, included an extensive dialogue session. During this session, students engaged in discourse with judicial officials, posing enquiries pertaining to the legal and procedural aspects pertinent to the course content.
Furthermore, the students were afforded the opportunity to attend actual court hearings, which allowed them to observe closely the methods of session management, the process of hearing witnesses, and their cross-examination within realistic legal contexts.
In expressing their gratitude for this practical experience, the students articulated its role as an enriching supplement to their academic pursuits, asserting that the visit had significantly contributed to the deepening of their understanding of the judicial structure and the mechanisms for applying the law before the courts.
