The Faculty of Business at Middle East University convened its inaugural General Assembly with the aim of formulating an integrated knowledge and skills model. This model is designed to produce highly qualified students equipped with advanced practical and linguistic proficiencies, enabling them to shoulder their national and societal responsibilities and actively engage in the process of development and construction.
The assembly was attended by key figures, including the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin; Board Member, Dr. Adnan Al-Araj; the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Ahmad Nasereddin; the President of the University, Professor Salam Al-Mahadin; the Vice President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Al-Louzi; and the Dean of the Faculty of Business, Dr. Rania Al-Za’amot. Also present were the vice deans, assistant deans, heads of departments, and members of the academic staff.
In his address, Dr. Nasereddin underscored that the consolidation of Jordanian national culture, ensuring the readiness of the academic cadre, and empowering students with both specialised and life skills constitute a fundamental pillar for bridging the chronic gap between educational outcomes and the demands of the labour market. He further asserted that the Faculty is currently obliged to engage in a conscious foresight of its academic programmes’ future and to enhance its competitive standing at the local, regional, and international levels.
In a related context, Dr. Adnan Al-Araj clarified that building a robust knowledge base for students represents an essential prerequisite for achieving the desired outcomes. He noted that the most significant challenge resides in the alignment of academic specialisations with the specific needs of society and the labour market.
In her presentation, Dr. Rania Al-Za’amot reviewed the faculty’s vision, mission, core values, and strategic objectives. She concluded by pointing out that these principles form an integrated operational framework that must be embedded in both intellectual and practical domains.
