More than 1,300 male and female graduates expressed their deep admiration for the fundamental transformations and rapid developments of Middle East University, whose features were evident in the institution that formed the beginnings, shaped ambitions, and invested in energies.
This was revealed during the activities of the first forum for its graduates at the Interactive Plaza, in a very symbolic and significant evening of celebration, through which the university sought to reflect its deep commitment to the philosophy of extended belonging, where the role of the university does not end at the moment of graduation but begins a new chapter of a constructive interactive relationship between the academic institution and its graduates, who constitute an extension of its cognitive, national, and humanitarian mission.
The forum, which was an extension of the university’s 20th anniversary celebrations, was sponsored by the Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, His Excellency Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin, in the presence of the President of the Board of Directors, Her Excellency Dr. Sanaa Shaqwara; Vice President of the Board of Directors, Dr. Ahmad Nasereddin; President of the University, Prof. Salam Al-Mahadin; Vice President of the University, Prof. Ahmad Al-Louzi; parliamentary figures; faculty deans; Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Hazem Al-Nsour; and academic and administrative staff members.
“Today’s event celebrates an extended memory of knowledge and a journey imbued with the values of commitment, renaissance and good citizenship,” stated Dr. Nasereddin, adding that this forum aims to reshape the relationship between the university and its graduates as a strategic partnership, built on trust, managed by vision, and anchored by free and conscious belonging.
He also emphasised that His Majesty the King is among the most aware and cognisant leaders of the country’s paths and challenges, as his strategic vision qualifies him to lead the country towards the desired safety, to which all Jordanians look forward with confidence and firm hope, noting that the university had said its word in a national rally on the occasion of Flag Day in the shortest message: “Whoever belongs to Middle East University is a soldier in the Arab Army.”
In her speech at the forum, which was presented by Nisreen Abu Saleha, a graduate of the Faculty of Media, Prof. Al-Mahadin clarified that the university aspires to formulate an exemplary model in investing the human capital of its graduates, not only as a mere outcome of the institution, but also as partners in reproducing its mission, renewing its tools, and empowering its future generations, adding that the university has succeeded in obtaining a number of prestigious international accreditations and establishing fruitful strategic partnerships, which had a great impact on the preparation and qualification of its students, so that they are fully prepared to face their professional and academic futures with confidence and competence.
Commenting on the event, Dr. Al-Nsour pointed out that this embodies the university’s vision to build an interactive human infrastructure that goes beyond the traditional framework of the relationship between the student and the institution, stressing that the university seeks to transform university memory into a living and vibrant project that reflects a renewed cultural identity based on achievement and promotes valuable social action.
It is worth mentioning that the graduates of the university added an emotional depth to the evening through words that expressed the sincerity of belonging and the warmth of memory. Retired Dean Dr. Ziad Al-Adwan said that this university was the incubator that shaped their collective consciousness, formed their personalities, and enabled them to go through life with firm confidence.
“Today, I am returning to the seats that taught us how to own the voice, how to use it well, and how to strive and strive for a nation that deserves every sacrifice and every effort,” said Dr. Hani Al-Badri, a reporter and journalist.
In response, Dr. Rashid Al-Hunaiti stressed that the university’s accelerated development reflects an ambitious administrative vision and an institutional approach based on the values of optimal investment in minds.
Praising this event, Dr. Najm Al-Issawi recited a poem, thus perpetuating the image of the university as a human-shaping space, not just an educational institution.
The ceremony included a documentary film about the university’s journey and development, as well as videos presented by graduates from their workplaces around the world.
The evening was marked with musical performances by the university’s choir and the distribution of commemorative gifts amidst a festive atmosphere.
