The Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences convened a series of specialised consultative meetings featuring representatives from educational, training, and cultural institutions, alongside labour market experts and alumni from various faculty programmes. This initiative forms part of the faculty’s ongoing endeavours to develop its academic curricula, ensuring alignment with professional requirements as well as contemporary cognitive and technological advancements.
Spanning a period of three days, the meetings brought together representatives from translation, training, and educational centres, alongside cultural and technological institutions. The sessions were also attended by department heads, academic programme coordinators, faculty members, and a number of students.
The primary objective of these consultations was to measure the efficacy of the academic programmes and review their learning outcomes, verifying their alignment with the evolving needs of the labour market. Consequently, this evaluation aims to enhance graduate readiness and elevate their professional competence.
Furthermore, participants deliberated on the graduate attributes across different programmes, examining the requisite skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as the employment opportunities available. In tandem with these efforts, the discussions addressed challenges associated with the skills gap and explored strategic methods to bridge them.
