The Board of Trustees of Middle East University has formally recognised Dr. Ayman Al-Khatib, a faculty member in the Department of Digital Supply Chains, following his success at the fourth annual Hussein Economic Research Awards (2025), securing the top award in the Green Economy category for his distinguished contribution to sustainable economic discourse.
The award-winning paper, entitled “The role of organisational ambidexterity and frugal innovation in enhancing circular supply chains: The effect of artificial intelligence capabilities”, was published in the esteemed journal Technological Forecasting and Social Change. Published by Elsevier, the journal is Q1-ranked with a significant impact factor of 13.3.
The study explores how innovation and AI can foster circular supply chains, directly supporting Jordan’s strategic shift towards a green economy and long-term sustainable development.
This latest accolade follows a series of high-impact publications by Dr. Al-Khatib in international journals indexed by Web of Science and Scopus. His influence in the field is further evidenced by his inclusion in the Stanford-Elsevier list of the world’s top 2% most-cited scientists for both 2024 and 2025.
