by media / Sunday, 23 August 2026 / Published in University-News

Middle East University has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army, represented by the Directorate of the Royal Maintenance Corps.

The MoU was signed on behalf of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army by Colonel Staff Eng. Mohammad Al-Jawabreh, Director of the Royal Maintenance Corps, while Middle East University was represented by its president, Professor Salam Al-Mahadin. The signing ceremony was attended by Professor Amjad Abu Irmeilah, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Dr Anas Al-Ashram, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences; and Dr Mohammad Al-Hneiti, Director of Media and Public Relations.

Fundamentally, this agreement aims to establish a practical partnership that leverages the specialised expertise and technical resources of the Jordanian Armed Forces alongside the university’s academic and research capabilities. In doing so, the partnership bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and professional practice, equipping students with hands-on experience closely aligned with evolving market demands and rapid technological advancements.

Under the terms of the memorandum, both entities will collaborate across academic, research, training, and technical domains. Furthermore, the two parties will share expertise and resources to develop joint academic and training programmes, execute applied research projects, and provide practical internship opportunities for students. To that end, students and faculty will gain access to specialised laboratories, facilities, and equipment while facilitating knowledge transfer and technology localisation.

Ultimately, this collaboration with the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to aligning its academic outcomes with national technical expertise. As a result, it gives students important experience in advanced technical settings, highlighting the essential connection between universities and national organisations to promote growth and modernisation throughout the Kingdom.

Middle East University was founded in 2005 in Amman, the capital of Jordan, located approximately 15 minutes from the city centre. The university’s campus is secure and conducive to learning, in accordance with the needs of students, academic and administrative bodies, and guests of the university.
The university comprises nine faculties and three academic programmes, namely, bachelor’s degree, higher diploma and master’s degree, in addition to hosted programmes with the most prestigious British universities.
