Organised by the Deanship of Student Affairs in collaboration with the Faculty of Nursing, the event welcomed youngsters from a nearby care home in the Jiza District, bringing together faculty members, administrative staff, and the student body in a shared act of community service.
The gathering was marked by a high-profile visit from the Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin, accompanied by the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Ahmad Nasereddin. Their presence underscored the institution’s top-level support for humanitarian initiatives that bridge the gap between academic institutions and their local surroundings.
Furthermore, the initiative serves as a practical manifestation of the values of solidarity and compassion synonymous with the Holy Month. By fostering these connections, the University reaffirms its dedication to its civic duties, ensuring that its influence extends beyond the lecture hall and into the heart of the local community. In doing so, MEU continues to cultivate a culture of philanthropy and social cohesion.
In addition to the immediate charitable impact, the event was designed to instil a robust sense of volunteerism and social responsibility within the student population. By encouraging undergraduates to engage directly with those in need of support and care, the university seeks to develop well-rounded citizens who are as attuned to humanitarian needs as they are to their academic pursuits.
Ultimately, the evening featured a variety of social activities aimed at bringing joy and festive cheer to the young guests. Set against the backdrop of the traditional Ramadan spirit, these segments highlighted the overarching themes of love and mercy, concluding an event that was as much about emotional connection as it was about communal dining.
