Middle East University organised a solemn national celebration to commemorate the birthday of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein.

The event, which was sponsored by the university’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Yaqoub Nasereddin, served to reinforce the position of the Hashemite leadership in the minds of Jordanians and to highlight their profound commitment to the ongoing process of construction and achievement led by His Majesty with wisdom and competence.

The event was attended by a number of notable figures, including the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Ahmad Nasereddin; the Vice President, Prof. Ahmad Al-Louzi; the Assistant to the President, HE Prof. Tamara Nasereddin; the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Hazem Nassour; relevant figures; faculty deans; academic and administrative staff members; and a number of students. Meanwhile, the event featured a series of cultural and artistic performances that celebrated the national heritage and highlighted the cultural diversity of Jordan.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Yaqoub Nasereddin, delivered a speech in which he addressed the pivotal role of His Majesty the King in leading the country towards a better future. He noted that under His Majesty’s reign, Jordan has become a role model in dealing with regional and international transformations, due to his strategic vision and ability to read the global scene.

In his address, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Hazem Al Nsour, remarked that this commemoration stands as a resounding testament to the profound gratitude Jordanians hold for their leader. Since assuming his constitutional powers, His Majesty the King has exemplified an unparalleled model of leadership.

In his speech, the President of the Student Parliament, Mohammed Al-Adwan, expressed the gratitude of the Jordanian youth to His Majesty the King, who has prioritised their issues and aspirations.

Followed by a series of performances, the event comprised a fashion show presented by the Salt Heritage and Fashion House, a martial arts show performed by university students, a folkloric show by the Maan Youth Band and the Armed Forces Music Band, and a musical performance by the university choir. Additionally, a military media exhibition was organised by the Jordanian Armed Forces to highlight its achievements and role in protecting the homeland and enhancing its security.
