Middle East University has secured a significant international milestone, with its Faculty of Law team placing in the top 16 at the seventh annual International Commercial Arbitration Competition. The achievement sees the university finish ahead of more than 180 teams representing 25 countries.
Regarding the contest’s path, the MEU team reached the final 32 following three consecutive rounds of virtual oral arguments. They then progressed to the face-to-face rounds held in Saudi Arabia, where they consolidated their position among the elite finalists.
Building on this momentum, international arbitrators praised the “exceptional proficiency and legal depth” of the arguments presented by the student cohort, which comprised Dima Obeidat, Noor Al-Qaisi, Ahmed Al-Sabteen, Wajd Al-Adwan, Not Al-Jarba, and Yusra Al-Badawi.
Reflecting on the university’s success, Dr. Ayman Al-Rafou, Dean of the Faculty of Law, remarked that this consistent progress is the direct result of a supportive educational environment. He noted that the institution continues to prioritise specialised training and the development of students’ competitive capabilities on the global stage.
