Middle East University organised an awareness event to mark the Global Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The initiative aimed to reinforce the principles of early screening and encourage students to adopt healthy lifestyle practices.
The event, held under the patronage of the University President, Professor Salam Al-Mahadin, featured a specialised panel discussion that brought together prominent figures from the health sector. These included former Senator Dr. Sawsan Al-Majali, Dr. Reem Al-Ajlouni, and the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Dr. Samira Al-Habashneh, alongside various members of the academic and administrative staff.
The speakers reviewed the critical importance of early detection in mitigating the risks associated with the disease, along with methods of prevention and self-care. Moreover, compelling personal testimonies were presented by a number of survivors, including Ms. Anan Baydas, who delivered moving messages centring on will, hope, and resilience in the face of challenge.
The event witnessed notable engagement from the university’s student body, who demonstrated a keen interest in both physical and psychological health issues. Concurrently, the accompanying awareness booths contributed to disseminating messages and values supporting public health by offering scientific advice and practical guidance, thereby promoting the concept of self-prevention.
