Middle East University is dedicated to providing assistance to national teams in order to ensure the success of international competitions.

Amman: Middle East University provided sponsorship for the World Roman and Freestyle Wrestling Championship, supporting athletes under the age of 17 years within the gold category.

The tournament, which was attended by the Vice President of the Board of Directors of the University, Dr. Ahmed Nasereddin; the President of the Jordan Wrestling Federation, Engineer Mohammed Al-Amaleh; and his Vice President, Engineer Abdullah Qutayshat, was organised by the Federation and witnessed the participation of approximately 1,000 competitors representing 58 countries.

A total of 18 players participated in the tournament on behalf of the national teams, comprising five competitors in women’s wrestling, five in freestyle wrestling, and eight in Romanian wrestling.

The involvement of Middle East University extended beyond the provision of transport, enabling a cohort of students from the university to engage in logistical interactions with the tournament. This exemplifies the university’s philosophy that education is not confined to the classroom but is inextricably linked with experiential learning and community service.

By participating in this initiative, these students were able to gain invaluable insights into the dynamics of international sporting events, thereby reinforcing the university’s role as an institution that produces well-rounded and socially responsible individuals.

The university’s involvement in the event is informed by a broader institutional ethos that places a premium on community integration as a fundamental aspect of its mission. The university regards the concept of an institution as a catalyst for national development and actively engages in collaborative initiatives with public sector entities to facilitate change.

This vision was eloquently articulated by the Vice President of the Board of Directors, Dr. Ahmed Nasereddin, who observed that the university is unwavering in its conviction that the true measure of success can be found in the capacity to direct all available energies and resources towards the collective good. The university’s participation in this international competition serves as a tangible demonstration of its dedication to this principle, reinforcing the institution’s position as a pivotal contributor at the national and international levels.

It is noteworthy that the university has recently introduced a specialisation in sports management and training, which encompasses a range of disciplines. The programme also encompasses Event Management, Sports Psychology, and Sports Coaching, thereby affording students an in-depth understanding of coaching methodologies that enhance athletic performance.

Middle East University was founded in 2005 in Amman, the capital of Jordan, located approximately 15 minutes from the city centre. The university’s campus is secure and conducive to learning, in accordance with the needs of students, academic and administrative bodies, and guests of the university.
The university comprises nine faculties and three academic programmes, namely, bachelor’s degree, higher diploma and master’s degree, in addition to hosted programmes with the most prestigious British universities.
