Professor Salam Al-Mahadin, President of Middle East University, presided over the official launch of the university’s new branch of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS). The inauguration marks a significant expansion of the university’s technical infrastructure and its affiliation with the world’s leading professional organisation for the advancement of technology.
The ceremony was attended by a distinguished assembly of academic leaders, including Prof. Qusay Shambour, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, and Professor Mousa Al-Akhras, representing the IEEE Jordan section. They were joined by members of the faculty, administrative staff, and a large cohort of students, underscoring the collective institutional support for this new technical milestone.
The proceedings outlined the chapter’s strategic objectives and future roadmap, complemented by specialised technical demonstrations from leading industry entities. The event also served as a platform to formally recognise the contributions of the university’s supportive partners, highlighting the collaborative nature of this initiative.
This achievement is fundamentally aligned with MEU’s commitment to providing an advanced educational environment that bridges the gap between academic theory and industrial application. By fostering such high-level professional integrations, the university continues to equip its graduates with the specialised competencies required to compete within the global technological landscape.
