Middle East University hosted the proceedings of the Seventh Arabic Language Conference, held under the title “Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence: New Visions for the Service of the Arabic Language”. The conference was officially sponsored by the Director of the Directorate of Education, Dr. Aref Al-Jariri, and organised by the Educational Supervision Department within the Directorate of Education in Al-Jizah District, in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences.

During the opening of the dialogue, which was chaired by Dr. Yaqout Faisal, Dr. Al-Jariri commended Middle East University’s efforts in accommodating the conference and supporting the Directorate’s initiatives. He underscored the university’s crucial role in promoting scientific and community events.

In her remarks, the Head of the Arabic Language Department at the university, Dr. Hafeezah Mahmoud, reiterated the university’s keen interest in developing linguistic events and deepening the academic partnership with the Al-Jizah Directorate of Education. She stressed that such collaboration contributes significantly to serving the Arabic language and advancing its instruction mechanisms.

The conference included a scholarly session, chaired by Dr. Niveen Al-Badawi, during which specialists presented research papers addressing advanced topics. These included “Siraj the Smart Assistant”, “Arabic Literature in the Digital World”, “Digital Transformation and Literacy”, and “Innovative Practices in the Instruction of the Arabic Language”.

The session also featured an extensive discussion on the recommendations and ideas presented. The core focus was on the necessity of modernising the tools for dealing with the Arabic language in a manner that keeps pace with the rapid developments in digital transformation and artificial intelligence. Furthermore, the discussion emphasised enhancing the capacity of educational institutions to adopt innovative technologies in support of teaching Arabic.

Concluding the conference was the honouring of participants and the presentation of shields to Middle East University and the Directorate of Education as a gesture of recognition for their joint cooperation and the efforts expended in organising the event.

Middle East University was founded in 2005 in Amman, the capital of Jordan, located approximately 15 minutes from the city centre. The university’s campus is secure and conducive to learning, in accordance with the needs of students, academic and administrative bodies, and guests of the university.
The university comprises nine faculties and three academic programmes, namely, bachelor’s degree, higher diploma and master’s degree, in addition to hosted programmes with the most prestigious British universities.
