Middle East University has formally entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation (JRTV), establishing a framework for high-level collaboration aimed at modernising training and professional development for media students. This partnership seeks to ensure that academic pathways remain closely aligned with the rapid technological and structural shifts currently reshaping the global media landscape.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by the President of the University, Professor Salam Al-Mahadin, and the Director General of JRTV, Ibrahim Al-Bawarid. The signing ceremony was attended by a high-level delegation, including the Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin; the Director of the Innovation and Professional Development Centre, Prof. Anis Mansour; and the Dean of the Faculty of Media, Dr. Ramez Abu Hasira, alongside senior representatives from the corporation.
During the proceedings, Dr. Nasereddin underscored the significance of the national press as a fundamental pillar of the Jordanian state’s strategic strength. He noted that a robust and credible media sector is essential for safeguarding national interests and navigating contemporary challenges, while simultaneously playing a vital role in fostering informed public discourse.
Furthermore, Professor Al-Mahadin observed that the agreement reflects a growing institutional awareness of the necessity for synergy between academia and industry. She emphasised that such partnerships are critical for cultivating a new generation of media professionals who are capable of navigating the digital transformations and emerging trends witnessed across both local and regional markets.
In conclusion, Mr Al-Bawarid highlighted that the agreement is specifically designed to bridge the gap between theoretical education and professional practice. To achieve this, JRTV will facilitate practical internship placements for students within its various departments, complemented by a series of specialised workshops and training modules delivered by seasoned industry practitioners and subject matter experts.
