
Middle East University entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Al-Hassan Youth Award to prepare its students to be active contributors to their communities, able to keep pace with social and economic transformations, and qualified to exercise future leadership roles, signed by Prof. Salam Khalid Al-Mahadin, President of the University, in the presence of Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, and Mr. Ayman Riad Al-Mofleh, Director of the Hassan Youth Award, in the presence of Ms. Rana Arafat from the Award’s Board of Trustees, in addition to the presence of the Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Hazem Al-Nsour, Dr. Hani Al-Badri, a faculty member at the Faculty of Media, Dr. Basma Al-Sakka, a faculty member at the Faculty of Business, Ms. Dima Al-Rai, Director of Public Relations, Dr. Saif Al-Kafawin, Head of Programmes, and Ms. Haya Bibi, University Liaison Officer.
The agreement stems from the mutual vision of the award and the university to empower youth and qualify them to play effective roles in the comprehensive development process by engaging them in quality programmes that are characterised by continuity and diversity and based on the methodology of empowerment based on self-development and objective measurement of individual progress.
More importantly, the agreement stipulates a set of core objectives, most notably cooperation in the implementation of joint youth projects, exchanging relevant experiences and information, and organising workshops and cultural and intellectual activities, as well as building training programmes that contribute to refining the skills of youth and enhancing their awareness of active citizenship.
It is worth mentioning that this memorandum comes as an extension of Middle East University’s endeavours to activate strategic partnerships with national institutions concerned with youth empowerment.
