Amman – Middle East University (MEU) has signed a cooperative agreement with the Specialty Hospital to train nursing students.
This agreement complements the university’s plans to prepare students to become competent practitioners who provide high-quality patient care through a combination of classroom instruction and practical clinical experience.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Anis Al-Mansour, the university’s legal advisor and director of the Middle East University Consulting, Training, and Language Centre, and Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri, the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Specialty Hospital.
In this regard, Dr. Al Mansour said that this memorandum aims to develop students’ skills in clinical reasoning, problem solving, and learning how to adapt their treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation.
Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri emphasized that the hospital is fully prepared to provide the necessary training opportunities and programmes for students to ensure the quality of educational outcomes, as the Specialty Hospital has been a training hospital accredited by the Jordan Medical Council and the Arab Medical Council for Health Specialties since 2006. In addition to the above, it is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Higher Education Institutions and includes the Specialty Training Centre, which provides all basic and advanced life support programmes accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) and the American College of Surgeons.
This agreement provides nursing students at the university with the opportunity to specialise in a specific field of practice, which enhances their expertise and opens doors to satisfying and effective career paths.
Dr. Anas Al-Ashram, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing; his assistant for field training, Dr. Hanan Al-Shamali; and Mr. Kamal Fraij, Director of Media and Public Relations, all attended the agreement. The hospital’s attendees included the medical director, Dr. Hani Al-Kurdi; the director of the Specialised Training Centre, Mr. LuaySahawneh; the nursing director, Dr. Abdullah Haimour; and the marketing and business development director, Ms. Shireen Abu Minah.
It is worth noting that the two parties signed a cooperative agreement in 2023 to train physiotherapy students.
