AMMAN – The Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions decided to award Middle East University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences the Golden Standard of the Quality Assurance Certificate during the proceedings of session no. 33/2020, headed by Prof. Thafer Yousef al-Sarayrah. The Faculty is the first faculty of arts and sciences in Jordan to attain this achievement.
The Chairman of MEU’s Board of Trustees, Dr Yacoub Nasereddin, commended the Faculty’s administrative staff and faculty for the efforts they have exerted to ensure the success of the MEU administration’s endeavour. He expressed his delight with this formidable, academic achievement and applauded MEU staff’s commitment to the University’s strategy and mission. He also confirmed the University’s keenness on attaining further local and international accreditations and rankings, in the aim to advance the reputation of the Jordanian higher education sector.
The University President, Prof. Ala’aldeen al-Halhouli, said that this achievement serves the University’s objective of providing quality education and enhancing its outputs. He highlighted that quality is at the zenith of MEU’s institutional values, and these values are cherished by the MEU family.
The Dean of Accreditation, Quality and Information, Dr Ahmad al-Louzi, pointed out that any achievement is the fruit of hard-work and commitment, and that the MEU staff will always be determined to advance the University’s reputation and performance. He added that the University adopts rigorous and careful planning and learns from the experiences of both its local and international counterparts in terms of quality and obtaining academic accreditation.
As result of its academic and administrative excellence, MEU was able to obtain the ISO 9001:2015 and the Golden Standard of the Quality Assurance Certificate from the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions on the scale of educational institutions. Prior to these two achievements, MEU’s Faculty of Law was also awarded the Golden Standard of the Quality Assurance Certificate for academic programmes. In addition, the University boasts advanced rankings in the QS World University Ranking and THE World University Rankings.
