Students enrolled in the “Over-the-Counter Drugs” course at Middle East University’s Faculty of Pharmacy executed a health awareness initiative within the arrivals hall of Queen Alia International Airport.
The primary objective of the initiative was to raise health awareness among incoming travellers to the Kingdom regarding seasonal allergies. To achieve this, students introduced travellers to the prominent triggers and symptoms of these allergies whilst offering practical medical and pharmaceutical guidance to assist in effective prevention and management.
The activity generated highly positive engagement from passengers, providing a dynamic field experience that allowed students to deploy their academic knowledge within a real-world environment. Furthermore, the event successfully fostered their role in cultivating a public health culture and consolidating the concept of community pharmacy as an active partner in enhancing public well-being.
