Middle East University, through the Faculty of Pharmacy’s student-led task force, “Pharmacy Arms” (Sawa’ed Al-Saydalah), and in strategic collaboration with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF), successfully orchestrated an expansive public health awareness campaign focusing on colorectal cancer. The initiative sought to cultivate institutional wellness and underscore the vital importance of prophylactic care and early screening protocols.
Operating under the esteemed patronage of the university president, Professor Salam Al-Mahadin, the campaign targeted the systematic dissemination of clinical knowledge regarding colorectal cancer symptomatology and the necessary diagnostic pathways required for early interceptive screening. Furthermore, the drive elucidated crucial preventative measures and nutritional paradigms that actively bolster gastrointestinal health, deploying a peer-to-peer instructional methodology grounded strictly in evidence-based health education.
Conceived as a multi-tiered public health intervention, the event elicited exceptional engagement from the student body, academic faculty, and administrative personnel alike. Participants interacted with sophisticated educational resources and diagnostic guidance blueprints masterfully compiled by pharmacy students under rigorous academic oversight. This material was supplemented by the distribution of authoritative clinical literature emphasising the pivotal role of timely diagnosis in dramatically optimising patient survival rates and mitigating long-term clinical complications.
