Middle East University has staged a national procession to celebrate Jordanian Flag Day, transforming the campus into a vibrant scene of patriotism and institutional pride. The event served as a profound expression of national identity, reflecting the students’ deep-seated reverence for their country and its sovereign symbol.
The ceremony commenced at the ‘Flag and Loyalty’ pole—notable for being the tallest flagstaff across the kingdom’s university campuses. The proceedings were attended by the chairman of the university’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin, and the university president, Professor Salam Al-Mahadin, alongside several members of parliament and other distinguished guests.
Reflecting on the significance of the occasion, Dr. Nasereddin remarked that the Jordanian flag demonstrates a historical narrative defined by sacrifice and national endurance. He further asserted that preserving its symbolism demands a renewed sense of awareness, one that deepens the connection between younger generations and their national heritage while fostering a robust sense of responsibility toward the future of the state.
Consistent with this sentiment, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Hazem Al-Nsour, noted that the procession aligns with the university’s broader mission to instil a spirit of active citizenship within the student body. By engaging students in such high-profile commemorations, the institution seeks to reinforce their sense of belonging and solidify their enduring bond with the homeland.
