Professor Salam Khalid Al-Mahadin, President of Middle East University, met with His Excellency Sheikh Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Ojaili, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, to discuss avenues for establishing new channels of institutional communication aimed at strengthening educational ties between both sides.
Held at the Omani Embassy, the meeting was attended by Prof. Anis Al-Mansour, Legal Advisor to MEU; Minister Plenipotentiary Badr bin Hilal Al-Busaidi; and Dr Abdullah Obeidat, Head of the Academic Section. The discussion reflects a shared commitment to fostering partnerships rooted in higher education and scientific research, ultimately serving students and advancing the regional engagement of higher education institutions.
Professor Al-Mahadin stated that Omani students represent an active and vital segment of the university community. She highlighted that providing a stable and stimulating academic environment aligns with the university’s broader vision to cultivate academic and cultural diversity while enabling students to make full use of available educational and intellectual opportunities.
In response, H.E. Sheikh Al-Ojaili commended the advanced standard of higher education in Jordan and praised MEU’s distinguished academic capabilities and modern infrastructure. He reaffirmed the importance of sustained dialogue between the embassy and the university to support Omani students and facilitate their academic endeavours.
In turn, Prof. Al-Mansour emphasised that the university accords special attention to Omani students, grounded in the firm belief that the quality of the university experience is measured by the level of care, mentorship, and support provided. Such an environment, he noted, enables students to seamlessly integrate into campus life and build their academic and professional pathways with confidence.
