Mahmoud Al-Khawaldeh, a student at Middle East University’s Faculty of Information Technology, has qualified for the regional stage of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA). By securing first place nationally, he will represent Jordan and his university among the region’s elite student entrepreneurs.
Central to this success is his pioneering project, “Care AI”, which integrates advanced artificial intelligence into medical diagnostics. This venture effectively demonstrates how the university’s students can harness sophisticated technologies to engineer solutions with measurable real-world impact.
Building on this success, Al-Khawaldeh will contest the regional finals in Cape Town, South Africa, from 26 to 29 July 2026. Following this event, successful finalists will proceed to the Start it Up Bootcamp, a foundational step toward participating in the fifth season of the Start it Up series showcasing elite student enterprises.
