Middle East University and the Ministry of Agriculture have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at broadening horizons of cooperation across the fields of scientific research, artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and smart farming.
The agreement was executed on behalf of the university by its president, Professor Salam Al-Mahadin, in the presence of the dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, Professor Qusai Shambour. Representing the ministry, the agreement was signed by the ministry’s secretary-general, Engineer Mohammad Al-Hayari, and attended by an elite of academics and senior ministerial officials.
On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, attendees reviewed an AI-powered poultry chain analytics project, which was developed by students from the Faculty of Information Technology as part of their graduation requirements.
The project team, comprising students Rana Al-Wahsh, Abdullah Al-Aourtani, Farah Al-Rukaibat, and Basel Abu Shanab, delivered a presentation detailing the primary components of the project, its practical outcomes, and its potential deployment in service of the agricultural sector.
The event culminated in the inauguration of the Poster Day exhibition, which featured a diverse array of student projects that reflected an advanced level of innovation and practical application within modern technological fields.
