The Faculty of Nursing at Middle East University recently convened its Second Scientific Day under the theme “Empowering Global Wellness: Nursing Leading Health and Digital Innovation”. Held under the patronage of the University President, Professor Salam Al-Mahadin, the symposium featured a distinguished assembly of academics, researchers, and healthcare leaders representing various medical and educational institutions.
Central to the day’s deliberations were the rapid transformations within the healthcare sector and the burgeoning role of the nursing profession in steering digital transitions and smart healthcare solutions. The discussions were structured around several core thematic pillars, including the quality of clinical care, patient safety, digital health, artificial intelligence, and evidence-based healthcare practices.
Building upon these thematic foundations, the event facilitated a robust exchange of ideas regarding the integration of technology into frontline nursing, highlighting how digital tools can augment clinical decision-making. These dialogues underscored the necessity of aligning traditional nursing values with modern technological advancements to meet evolving global health demands.
The symposium ultimately culminated in a series of strategic recommendations. These proposals advocated for a more substantial role for nursing professionals in the formulation of health policies and called for the expanded integration of digital innovation within therapeutic frameworks. Such advancements are envisioned to contribute to the development of a healthcare model that is not only more efficient and sustainable but also more profoundly human-centric.
