The Advisory Board of the Faculty of Business at Middle East University recently convened to reinforce the university’s commitment to an educational model that adapts to the rapid transformations of modern business environments. This session focused on the evolution of an academic ecosystem designed to respond effectively to the demands of the knowledge economy and the increasingly dynamic labour market.
To facilitate this dialogue, the meeting brought together a distinguished assembly of representatives from both the public and private sectors, alongside faculty alumni and current students. High-level leadership was present to steer the discussion, including the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Ahmad Nasereddin; the President of the University, Professor Salam Al-Mahadin; and the Dean of the Faculty of Business, Dr. Rania Al-Zamat.
Building upon this collaborative foundation, participants examined the strategic dimensions of partnerships between academia and the corporate world. Participants view these alliances as a vital catalyst for socio-economic development, bridging the gap between educational outcomes and the practical requirements of productive sectors. By aligning curricula with industry needs, the board aims to broaden the scope for hands-on training and real-world professional application.
In its concluding deliberations, the board emphasised the necessity of maintaining these consultative forums as forward-looking platforms for expert exchange. Such engagements are instrumental in building shared developmental visions, ultimately deepening the integration between higher education, national development goals, and the nuanced requirements of the future job market.
