Middle East University — in its capacity as the headquarters of the Jordan Federation for University Sports — hosted the five-day Women’s Futsal Championship. Organised by the Federation, the championship witnessed the participation of 15 public and private universities from across the Kingdom’s governorates.
The competition concluded with Al-Balqa Applied University securing the championship title, while the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) claimed second place. Third place was shared between the University of Jordan and Yarmouk University.
At the closing ceremony, the president of Middle East University, Professor Salam Al-Mahadin, presented medals and trophies to the winning teams and athletes. The event was attended by the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Hazem Al-Nsoor; the Dean of Student Affairs at Al-Balqa Applied University, Dr. Khalaf Al-Khatatneh; alongside other university representatives and sports officials.
The university stated that the championship effectively promoted the values of fair play and collective discipline. The matches reflected the evolving technical standards of Jordanian university sports and highlighted the growing prominence of women’s athletics within the academic environment as a vital pathway for empowerment and active participation.
