Middle East University recently convened a specialised workshop as part of the PubliSHE project, bringing together a distinguished cohort of researchers from four Jordanian universities. This scholarly gathering was further augmented by the virtual participation of project partners from London South Bank University, facilitating a robust international exchange of ideas.
Crucially, the workshop was designed to foster a research environment that integrates gender-sensitive dimensions, with a particular emphasis on empowering and advancing the leadership roles of female researchers. Furthermore, a primary objective of the session was the establishment of a “Community of Practice” intended to institutionalise scientific cooperation and streamline the exchange of expertise across the participating institutions.
In addition to these structural developments, the workshop addressed the burgeoning importance of the responsible application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within academic research. Discussions in this area focused on ensuring that such technologies are utilised in strict accordance with established ethical and professional benchmarks.
Consequently, the event featured a series of interactive discussions that resulted in the formulation of practical insights for the advancement of joint scientific inquiry. In conclusion, the workshop culminated in the development of an executive roadmap for drafting collaborative research proposals and the scheduling of periodic meetings under a research-twinning framework. These initiatives serve as vital preparation for the forthcoming phases of the project, which is scheduled to span a two-year duration.
