Middle East University has successfully concluded the proceedings of the Model United Nations forum, which it hosted with the participation of a select group of students from several prominent institutions, including the New English School, the Modern American School, the Independent School, Mashrek International School, and Montessori School. This interactive educational experience reflected an advanced level of awareness and global knowledge among the participants.
Building upon this academic foundation, the concluding sessions featured in-depth deliberations concerning contemporary international issues. By assuming the roles of diplomats representing various nations within multiple international committees, the students drafted resolution proposals through rigorous dialogue and negotiation, thereby simulating the official operational mechanisms of the United Nations. Furthermore, the students’ interventions and their representation of national stances demonstrated a remarkable proficiency in critical thinking and analytical reasoning, as well as an aptitude for diplomatic discourse and collaborative problem-solving.
In light of these outcomes, the university stated that the organisation of this event aligns with its commitment to supporting qualitative educational initiatives that contribute to character development and enhance students’ capacity to engage with global issues responsibly. Ultimately, the university noted that hosting the Model United Nations serves as a vital platform for empowering students to acquire practical experience in international dialogue, thereby preparing them as future leaders capable of addressing complex regional and global challenges.
