The Department of Party Activities, in collaboration with the Community Peace Club within the Deanship of Student Affairs, organised a field visit to the Community Peace Centre, which operates under the Preventive Security Directorate. The objective of this visit was to enhance communication with national security institutions and to reinforce the concepts of community peace and security among university students.
The visit formed part of the university’s comprehensive strategy to cultivate students’ intellectual and security awareness. In addressing these concerns, the programme of the visit encompassed several pivotal domains, chief among them being the enhancement of communication and collaboration with public security personnel, the promotion of a culture of community peace, and the dissemination of awareness regarding the implications of extremist ideology and the methodologies employed by electronic recruitment to target young demographics.
Furthermore, the students were briefed on the role of the Community Peace Centre in the rehabilitation of individuals affected by extremist thought. This briefing included an exposition of the various stages that victims undergo during the process of intellectual and psychological treatment and rehabilitation.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Community Peace Centre expressed its gratitude to Middle East University for its partnership and sustained efforts in supporting awareness and educational initiatives. The centre furthermore asserted that this collaboration contributes significantly to instilling the values of citizenship, loyalty, and belonging in youth and enhances their ability to resist attempts at radicalisation and recruitment by extremist terrorist groups.
