Middle East University participated in the ‘Makers’ Space Forum’ event, which featured over 100 entrepreneurial projects and attracted an attendance exceeding 4,200 visitors from various universities, schools, and entrepreneurial platforms.
The university was represented by a cohort of students from the Entrepreneurship Club, which is overseen by the Deanship of Student Affairs. The projects presented by Middle East University attracted considerable interest from both attendees and participating organisations, owing to the advanced technical and humanistic insights they embodied.
A noteworthy submission was the ‘Sumo Robot’ project, which was developed by the students Rahaf Ja’far Al-Sayed, Farah Nasser Al-Rukeibat, and Ayah Salah from the Faculty of Information Technology, under the supervision of Mr. Ibrahim Bani Saeed. This project provided a valuable opportunity to demonstrate the students’ proficiency in programming, intelligent control systems, and interactive robotics.
In a related development, the students Faisal Dawood, Yousef Abu Omar, and Quds Abdul Hussein Al-Dawi, all from the Faculty of Engineering and Design, presented a device for producing biodiesel fuel. Supervised by Dr. Mu’tasem Bani Mustafa, this innovation is primarily focused on the development of environmentally friendly solutions for the safe and sustainable domestic production of biofuel.
