
Middle East University conducted a workshop in collaboration with SWAN Interiors on ‘Illuminations in Interior Design’ at the Faculty of Engineering and Design, sponsored by the President of the University, Prof. Salam Khalid Al-Mahadin, which witnessed the presence of the Dean of the faculty, Dr. Ayman Awad, and members of the academic and administrative staff, in addition to a group of students from the faculty of engineering and design.
A group of prominent specialists in the field of interior design and architecture participated in the workshop, namely Eng. Najwan Khadra, Engineer Ahmed Al-Beik, Engineer Nour Bazlmit, and Eng. Ghazwa Hani, who reviewed the most prominent modern trends in interior design and the importance of integrating creativity with the functional requirements of architectural spaces.
The event also witnessed the participation of leading companies in specialised sectors, including Jotin Paints, Lado Fabrics, Swiss Kitchens, and Al-Huda Lighting, who provided live demonstrations to introduce students to the latest innovations and materials used in the market.
In parallel with the workshop, an art exhibition of the works of the students of the Interior Design Department was opened, which reflected the level of creative and skilled progress reached by the students and their ability to translate theoretical concepts into tangible practical models.
At the end of the event, small interactive sessions were held between students, experts and representatives of participating companies, which focused on the basics of selecting and coordinating materials according to precise professional standards, thus contributing to refining practical skills and strengthening the link with the labour market.
