Students from the Faculty of Media at Middle East University completed a specialised course on health journalism organised by the Royal Society for Health Awareness over three intensive days, which focused on refining the participants’ skills in covering health topics, especially sexual and reproductive health, through the use of the latest media tools and research methodologies based on reliable sources locally and internationally.
The students were accompanied by Dr. Hala Amro, a faculty member at the Faculty of Media, while Dr. Mohammed Abu Halba, a faculty member at the Faculty of Media, provided in-depth training on the ethics of addressing health topics in the media, research methodology, and gathering information from accredited scientific and medical sources.
At the conclusion of the course, the participants delivered presentations by three groups, each of which reviewed a prominent health issue through a scientific methodology and a professional media framework, which impressed the lecturers and organisers alike.
