The Dean of Student Affairs at Middle East University, Dr. Hazem Al-Nsour, participated in the meeting held by the Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. Abdul Moneim Al-Awdat, with the deans of student affairs of Jordanian public and private universities, which dealt with several topics related to public affairs and the role of universities in the process of political reform.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Odat stressed the pivotal role of universities in embracing the national debate with rationality and awareness, especially on pressing issues, stressing the need for academia to contribute to the consolidation of a mature political culture based on respect for the law and positive engagement in the reform process, away from emotions and unbridled passion.
Commenting on the importance of building a conscious university generation, Dr. Al-Nsour pointed out that activating the mechanisms of responsible dialogue on campus, providing students with critical skills, and actively involving them in the formulation of national solutions are all necessary, calling for the need to integrate the efforts of student affairs deanships with the Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs to maximise the impact of student experiences in supporting reform and deepening awareness towards effective political participation.
