
Middle East University concluded the activities of the fourth edition of the Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin Cultural Cup competition, with the Faculty of Nursing in first place and the Faculty of Media in second place, in a festive atmosphere that reflected the university’s strong identity in building human beings intellectually and culturally.
The ceremony was sponsored by the Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin, in the presence of the President of the University, Prof. Salam Al-Mahadin, faculty deans, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Hazem Al-Nsour, members of the academic and administrative staff, and a group of students.
Dr. Nasereddin stated that the competition is a scene to celebrate the system of values that the university stands for, starting with rational knowledge, passing through constructive criticism, and ending with responsible engagement in the issues of the country and the nation.
Dr. Al-Nsour, in response, pointed out that the competition embodies the university’s philosophy of linking thought and practice and overcoming educational stereotypes in favour of a dynamic environment that stimulates interaction, values achievement, and promotes individual and collective creativity.
The honouring ceremony also included the winners of the “Al-Aqsa Ramadan Holy Quran Memorisation Competition”, in addition to those who excelled in the fields of creative writing, short stories, painting and Arabic calligraphy, reflecting the comprehensiveness of the cultural vision pursued by the university.
