Middle East University organised a mass national march on the occasion of the Jordanian Flag Day, following the success of the General Intelligence Department in thwarting a cowardly terrorist plot that aimed to compromise the security and stability of the Kingdom, in a clear patriotic stance that reflects the deep-rootedness of Jordanian constants in the awareness of the university community and the depth of sincere loyalty to the country and firm loyalty to its security services and institutions.
The march was attended by the Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, Dr Yacoub Nasereddin; the President of the University, Prof. Salam Al-Mahadin; her Vice President, Prof. Ahmad Al-Louzi; the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Hazem Al-Nsour; the media figure, Dr. Hani Al-Badri; and the President of the Student Parliament Union, Mohammed Al-Adwan, in addition to a number of relevant security and community figures and a number of students and academic and administrative staff members.
Dr Nasseruddin stressed that belonging to the security institution is not just a slogan that we repeat or a circumstantial position that we adopt; it is an emotional, intellectual and value extension of the Jordanian state institutions, in which the General Intelligence Department and the Arab Army represent the nation’s shield and its impregnable fortress.
He added that everyone who belongs to Middle East University, whether students or academic or administrative staff, is an extension of the security system, stressing that standing with the homeland at these critical moments is not an option but a sacred duty that does not tolerate hesitation.
Speaking on the occasion, the Dean of Student Affairs expressed his pride in the wide participation that reflects the awareness of university students and their keenness to deliver clear messages that compromising Jordan’s security is a red line and that Jordanian youth stand side by side with the security services, believing that the homeland can only be protected by the arms of its citizens.
Al-Adwan, Head of the Student Parliament Union, said that students are part of the equation of defending the homeland, adding that they are fully aware of the extent of the challenges and lead the ranks in decisive moments.
The march included artistic and expressive paragraphs that carried messages of loyalty and belonging. Students from the university presented expressive poetry verses, expressing pride in the armed forces and security services, and recalling their heroism and sacrifices to protect the homeland.
The event was also characterised by the presentation of patriotic songs, which enhanced the interactive atmosphere and the spirit of enthusiasm, embodying the unity of the national ranks and the solidarity of the university family with Jordan under the auspices of its Hashemite leadership and its protective services.
