Our faculty is regarded as the ‘mother faculty’ of the university, established at its inception in the 2005/2006 academic year as the Faculty of Humanities. To align with the university’s evolving strategic direction, it was renamed the Faculty of Arts and Sciences in 2011/2012. More recently, in 2022/2023, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences was merged with the Faculty of Educational Sciences. This integration has enriched our academic offerings, drawing upon the extensive expertise of our combined academic staff to meet the dynamic demands of the contemporary global labour market.

The faculty currently houses several distinguished departments offering undergraduate and higher diploma programmes, including English Language and Translation, Arabic Language and Literature, Educational Technology, and Administration and Curricula. Additionally, we host the Departments of Basic Humanities and Basic Scientific Sciences, which deliver the university-wide mandatory and elective requirements for all undergraduate students.

Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our attainment of the Gold Level Quality Assurance Certificate from the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions. This achievement mirrors the university’s status as a ‘gold’ institution and underscores our adherence to national quality standards. Furthermore, we maintain prestigious international benchmarks, notably the ASIC (Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities) accreditation for our English Language and Literature programme.
